persistence.dev – our marketing website; dashboard.persistence.dev – our customer dashboard; and auth.persistence.dev – our authentication and login service. This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect Personal Data.

We also use certain technologies that are not technically cookies, including browser local storage and session storage. 2HOW WE USE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Depending on the Persistence property you use, we use cookies and similar technologies to:
authenticate users and maintain secure login sessions; protect accounts and prevent unauthorized access; remember language, theme and interface preferences; understand how visitors use our Website; measure Website traffic and sources; analyze use of product features; identify and troubleshoot errors; improve the performance and usability of our Services; provide website chat functionality; enable meeting bookings; understand business visitors and support sales follow-up; process payments; support third-party sign-in functionality; and understand the effectiveness of our marketing activities. The cookies and technologies used differ between our public Website and our logged-in dashboard and authentication services.
3CATEGORIES OF COOKIES
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies Strictly Necessary Cookies are required for essential functionality such as authentication, login security and maintaining a user session.
Disabling these cookies may prevent certain portions of the Services from functioning.
3.2 Functional Cookies Functional Cookies allow us to remember choices you make, such as your preferred display theme, accent colour or language.
These cookies are used to provide requested functionality and improve your experience. They are not used by Persistence for advertising or cross-site tracking.
3.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies Analytics and Performance Cookies help us understand how visitors and users interact with our Website and Services.
Depending on the property, these technologies may collect information such as page views, clicks, traffic sources, browser and device information, approximate location, feature usage, errors and other product interaction information.
We use this information to measure usage, understand performance, troubleshoot problems and improve our Website and Services.
3.4 Visitor Identification and Communications Technologies On our marketing Website, we use certain third-party technologies to provide live chat functionality and to help us understand business visitors who may be interested in our Services.
These technologies may use cookies or similar identifiers and may, depending on the provider and available information, associate Website activity with business or professional contact information.
3.5 Third-Party Functionality Certain pages or features use third-party services for functionality such as meeting scheduling, payment processing and third-party authentication. These providers may set cookies when you interact with the relevant functionality.

Our public marketing Website currently uses the following services:

Cal.com is used only on the pricing page.
PostHog Session Recording PostHog technology is capable of providing session-recording functionality. Session replay is enabled in the Persistence dashboard as described below.
Whether session replay is enabled on the public marketing Website is currently under review. If enabled, this Policy will be updated as appropriate to describe that processing.
5DASHBOARD AND LOGIN COOKIES
The customer dashboard at dashboard.persistence.dev and authentication service at auth.persistence.dev use cookies necessary for product functionality, authentication and user preferences, together with certain analytics and third-party functionality.

These cookies provide user-interface functionality and are not used by Persistence for advertising or cross-site tracking.
5.2 Authentication and Security Cookies

These cookies are used for authentication and security and are necessary for the operation of the login service.
Authentication cookies are configured so that they are not readable by ordinary webpage scripts.
Access tokens used during an active session are stored in browser session storage rather than cookies.
5.3 Product Analytics Persistence uses PostHog on the dashboard and authentication service for product analytics.
PostHog may collect information relating to:
page views; product and feature usage; errors; login events; and other interactions with the Services. For signed-in users, PostHog may associate this information with an account identifier and email address.
PostHog analytics identifiers may remain for up to approximately one year.
Session replay is enabled in the dashboard. Session replay allows Persistence to review recordings of user interactions with the product for purposes such as troubleshooting, understanding product usage and improving the Services.
Persistence should configure session replay to avoid capturing information that is unnecessary or inappropriate for these purposes.
5.4 Payment Processing When a user adds a payment card or otherwise interacts with applicable billing functionality, Stripe may set cookies or similar technologies necessary to provide payment functionality, prevent fraud and securely process payment information.
Stripe’s use of cookies and Personal Data is also governed by its applicable privacy disclosures.
5.5 Google Sign-In If a user chooses to sign in using Google, Google may set cookies or use similar technologies in connection with authentication.
These technologies are used only when the user chooses the Google sign-in functionality and are subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
6LOCAL STORAGE AND SESSION STORAGE
In addition to cookies, Persistence uses browser storage technologies.
Marketing Website Browser local storage may be used to retain first-touch marketing attribution information, including campaign parameters, advertising click identifiers, referring source and landing page information.
Browser session storage may be used to retain last-touch attribution information for the current visit.
Advertising click identifiers contained in URLs may be recorded for internal analytics.
Persistence does not currently use those identifiers to send Website visitors back to advertising platforms for retargeting.
Dashboard and Authentication After login, information relating to the current user session may be stored in browser session storage and generally cleared when the relevant browser session ends.
Certain interface preferences may also be stored in local storage.
Persistence does not use these dashboard storage technologies for advertising.
7SESSION REPLAY
Persistence uses PostHog session replay within its customer dashboard.
Session replay technology can record certain interactions with the user interface, such as clicks, navigation and other interactions, and allows Persistence to reproduce a user’s interaction with the product.
We use session replay for purposes such as:
troubleshooting technical problems; identifying errors; understanding how product functionality is used; improving usability; and improving the performance and functionality of the Services. Session replay is not used by Persistence for third-party advertising.
8ADVERTISING AND RETARGETING
Persistence does not currently use Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or Google Ads remarketing pixels on its marketing Website, dashboard or authentication service.
Persistence does not currently use Website visitor information collected through these technologies for consumer advertising retargeting.
Advertising click identifiers contained in incoming URLs may be recorded through PostHog for internal attribution and analytics purposes but are not currently sent back to advertising platforms for retargeting.
Leadsy is used on the marketing Website for B2B visitor identification and sales follow-up.
Leadsy may associate Website activity with business or professional contact information where such information is available to it.
9YOUR COOKIE CHOICES
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies and to control how websites use cookies.
Please note that blocking Strictly Necessary Cookies may prevent authentication or other essential features of the Services from operating correctly.
Where applicable law requires Persistence to obtain consent before storing or accessing non-essential cookies or similar technologies on your device, Persistence will provide appropriate consent choices and controls.

10GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL AND OTHER PRIVACY SIGNALS
Certain privacy laws may provide rights to opt out of particular forms of data processing through recognized browser-based or device-based preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC).
Where Persistence is legally required to recognize such a signal, we will process a valid signal in accordance with applicable law.

11THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Some technologies described in this Cookie Policy are provided by third parties, including PostHog, Google, Leadsy.ai, Intercom, Cal.com and Stripe.
These providers may collect or receive information through cookies and similar technologies when their services are used.
Where a provider processes Personal Data on behalf of Persistence, its processing is subject to applicable contractual and data-protection requirements. Where a third party independently determines how it processes Personal Data, its own privacy policy and terms may also apply.
12INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
The use of cookies and third-party technologies may result in Personal Data being processed in countries other than the country in which you are located.
Where Personal Data is transferred internationally, Persistence takes measures required under applicable data protection laws to protect such information.

13DATA RETENTION
The retention period for information collected through cookies and similar technologies depends on the relevant cookie, technology and purpose.
The indicative cookie durations currently known to Persistence are provided in the tables above.
Third-party providers may change cookie names and retention periods from time to time.
Persistence periodically reviews its use of cookies and tracking technologies and may update this Policy accordingly.
Personal Data derived from cookies or similar technologies may be retained separately from the cookie itself where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.
14CHILDREN
Persistence’s Website and Services are primarily intended for businesses and professional users and are not directed to children.
We do not knowingly use cookies or similar technologies for targeted advertising directed at children where prohibited by applicable law.

15CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies and technologies we use, our Website and Services, our service providers, or applicable legal requirements.
